Charlotte’s Kilimanjaro 2020 Food Campaign
One-time Still Needed
Days to Go
Myself and an amazing team of 11 women will embark on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to trek up to 19,341ft. for children in Rwanda. Why? Because we have a huge heart for “the land of a thousand hills" and want nothing less than to help give back in every way possible!
- "How did I get involved and my why you might ask? Its simple...I believe in letting every child dream! But to dive just a bit deeper in to my backstory, I have been partnering with the organization for a year now after hearing a friend who works for the program talk about all the wonderful opportunities it provides for children in Rwanda, Africa. I started sponsoring a child named Joy last march and every month I help fund her schooling, clothing and meals as well as a growing connection to her Faith. This past October I traveled to Rwanda and served through ANL and also met Joy. To say it was life altering moment is an understatement. I saw first hand the impact this program is having in Rwanda and instantly fell deeper in love with the organization, people, country, all of it. Long story long, I have always been drawn to climbing Kili and when the opportunity to do both raise funds for ANL’s food program AND climb I jumped right in without a second thought".-Charlotte
Our Kilimanjaro 2020 team will help raise support and awareness for Africa New Life's Food Program! With a team goal of $170,000 they will be able to provide more than 200,000 meals for kids in Rwanda.
Africa New Life's Food Program helps to provide school lunches to children in Rwanda who otherwise would get little or no food to eat. These children work hard and are dedicated to doing well in school so they can improve their families' situations and give back to their country when they grow up. But it’s hard to learn or grow without food!
An average meal in Rwanda costs $0.83, which means $25 provides food for a child for a month (30 meals). Feeding children and families is an extension of the gospel and provides students the stability and consistent nutrition necessary to complete their education.
