PLANTING CHURCHES

True hope and transformation comes from the gospel of Jesus Christ, and a core part of our strategy to transform lives and communities has always been planting healthy churches in the communities where we work. We believe churches are the foundation of community health, reconciliation and healing. These churches minister to and disciple our sponsored students, their families, and the greater community, and serve their wider regions through service, evangelism, and discipleship.

Our of our churches currently have congregations in the hundreds or thousands and have become even more important to their communities in light of thousands of other churches closing around the nation in 2018 and 2024.

DREAM CENTER, KIGALI

Established in 2004, New Life Bible Church in Kigali, our flagship church, now serves thousands of people at four services each Sunday.

KAYONZA

Established in 2006, New Life Bible Church in Kayonza originally met at New Life Christian Academy before gaining its own building.

KAGEYO

Church in Bugesera

The New Life Bible Church in Kageyo began meeting in 2010 at a public school that Africa New Life was helping manage in the community. A second church was later planted on our Kageyo B campus. Both are still active, thriving, and supporting thousands of community members.

BUGESERA

New Life Bible Church in Bugesera held its first worship service in September 2012, outdoors under a tent. In the Fall of 2015, construction on the church building was completed, and now the community has a place to gather in Christ’s name.

RUBAVU

Launched on Easter Sunday 2017, New Life Bible Church in Rubavu (Gisenyi) grew to more than 200 consistent members within only a few months. While the church began in a tent, construction on a new church building was completed in summer of 2017. The church continues to grow and baptize many new members.

Karangazi

Construction began on New Life Bible Church in Karangazi in 2019. Though the launching of the church was slowed down by the COVID-19 pandemic, its doors opened and the congregation started meeting on Easter Sunday 2021. The congregation continues to grow in size and impact within the community.

HUYE AND NYAGATARE

New churches opened in the communities of Huye and Nyagatare in 2023. Already, these churches have full congregations and are making a transformative difference in their communities.

Nyanza

Our 13th New Life Bible Church is currently under construction in the community of Nyanza, and is nearing completion thanks to support from many incredible partners. A sponsorship office is being constructed on the same campus.

CHURCH DEVELOPMENT FUND

In 2024, church building safety codes and other structural requirements were significantly heightened by Rwanda’s government. While we are continuing construction the new Nyanza church, for which we already had land and permits in place when the new rulings took effect, Africa New Life is currently pausing on other church planting plans. Instead, we are focused on ensuring that all of our existing churches meet the government requirements for safety, soundproofing, security, bathroom facilities, parking lots, and more. In the second half of 2024 and throughout 2025, we have been making upgrades to each building, with more to come. These upgrades will ensure that New Life Bible Churches will remain powerful centers of discipleship, community development, evangelism, and hope for many years to come.
