Thank you for your interest in serving in a medical capacity in Rwanda. To practice medicine, you are required to obtain a temporary medical license from the Rwandan government’s Ministry of Health. By requiring all medical personnel acquire a license before practicing in Rwanda, the government is protecting the health and safety of their citizens.
The Ministry of Health requires copies of several documents which can be uploaded through the link at the end of the page. Please download the overview and registration form below to view the requirements. There are some exceptions to the requirements, noted in the overview document.
Africa New Life will facilitate sending your information to the Ministry of Health for their review. The Ministry of Health will provide a license to Africa New Life, which will then be sent to you. This process can take a matter of days or up to three months, so we ask that you submit your documents three months in advance of your departure date. Past this date we are not able to guarantee your license will be obtained in time to practice during your trip.
The registration forms can be confusing – if you have any questions, please contact Megan Westby at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not email required documents.
