PROFILE: NYAMIRAMA
Nyamirama is a rural community east of Kayonza and a majority of its residents live below the poverty line. Families are typically larger due to a lack family planning literacy. This increases food insecurity, which leads to higher incidences of school dropouts. Families in Nyamirama live in small mud brick or concrete houses. Because it is difficult to find consistent work, most parents rely on subsistence farming to provide for their families.
