SUGGESTED RESOURCES
Today, Rwanda’s future is promising. Rwanda provides the world with an example of resilience, grace, and continued healing. We can learn so much from Rwanda and we encourage our partners to learn alongside us. Please begin by watching this interview of President Paul Kagame at a meeting hosted by Hiinga in February 2019.
It is important for us to understand the challenges Rwanda has faced as a nation crippled by colonialization and devastated by genocide. This history helps us understand the multifaceted needs in Rwanda and informs why Africa New Life Ministries was founded.
Genocide memorials in Rwanda exist to remember the tragedy, honor the dead, and aim to educate society in order to prevent another occurrence in the future. While it’s important to know and understand the history of Rwanda, it is inappropriate to discuss the Rwandan genocide with the student you sponsor.
We strongly encourage you to utilize the resources below to expand you knowledge and understanding of Rwanda and how Africa New Life approaches international development.
