It takes a minimum of 24 hours to travel to Tanzania and you will need to arrive in Moshi 1-2 days prior to your first day of climbing. Your trek up the mountain and back will take 8 days. This means you will need to commit to taking 2 weeks off from work, plus additional days if you would like to travel to Rwanda for 2-3 days on the back-end of your trip. Are you prepared to do this?*
TEAM DYNAMICS
This is a hard climb, mentally and physically. Team members must support and encourage each other through both fundraising and the climb itself. Please share how you do in group or team settings?*
EXPENSES AND FUNDRAISING
Africa New Life asks each climber to raise at least $10,000 on behalf of Africa New Life's Food & Care Program. Our past teams have had GROUP goals ranging between $150,000 and $300,000. Will you be committed to this fundraising goal and your share in it?*
Tusker Trail is one of the safest and most well-known trekking companies hosting climbs on Mt. Kilimanjaro. They have medically-trained guides, and they are the only trekking group that carries a hyperbaric chamber. Their main goal is to keep you healthy and get you to the top of the mountain. The climb itself wihth Tusker will cost between $5,500 and $6,000. The overall trip costs can be anywhere from $6,000 to $8,500. This includes your airfare to and from Tanzania, hotel stay in Moshi, cost for an 8 or 9 day trek (meals included), and any gear items you may not already own. You may need to rent some items from Tusker. The more gear items you have, the less the trip will cost. The trip cost is separate and in addition to the fundraising goal you will have.

CONDUCT
Are you willing to accept guidance and even critique as you proceed through fundraising and training, for your own benefit and the success of your team?*
Team chemistry and synergy is very important on this climb. If, at any time during your training and fundraising, your conduct is producing strife or offending other members of the team, Africa New Life staff, or Tusker Trail staff, you may be asked to meet with Africa New Life leadership and, potentially, be asked to leave the team. This could put your trip deposit at risk. Can you agree to this?*

To climb Kilimanjaro with Africa New Life, you must agree to the Statement of Faith below:

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across racial, gender, and class difference.
